About The Opportunity
Programmed Property Services is seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our high performing Commercial Painting team based in Napier and covering the wider Hawkes Bay. This is a full-time role focused on driving business growth through the acquisition of new clients while nurturing and expanding relationships with our existing customer base.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across a diverse range of industries within your territory. You’ll engage with key decision-makers, present tailored commercial solutions, and drive the sale of high-value, long-term service agreements.
This role involves developing persuasive proposals and navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. Your ability to build strong commercial relationships and deliver strategic, customer-focused outcomes will be critical to your success. Experience in similar solution-based sales environments with long sales cycles will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow our Commercial Painting business across the Hawkes Bay region.
- Nurture and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and market research.
- Utilize your sound sales history, particularly in trades and services, to effectively communicate the value of our products and services to potential customers.
- Prepare accurate sales estimates and develop professional proposals that showcase our offerings.
- Leverage your previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to effectively manage customer interactions, track sales activities, and maintain accurate records.
About you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need more than just a great sales history. We’re looking for someone with the BDM mindset - someone who takes initiative, chases opportunities, and builds value through relationships.
You’ll likely have:
- Experience growing revenue from both new and existing clients
- Strong relationship management and account development skills
- A genuine drive to hunt for new business - cold calling, networking, and prospecting come naturally to you
- A mindset focused on solutions and service, not transactional selling
