This part-time role (0.6 FTE, approximately 3 days per week) is fixed-term for 6 months, with the possibility of extension or permanency and is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, supporting early career development, and contributing to business development initiatives.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Assist with the recruitment of students and graduates, including candidate engagement, shortlisting, and placement screening.
- Coordinate intern and graduate placements to ensure successful work placement outcomes for participants and host organisations.
- Support business development initiatives to identify and engage potential host employers and grow program participation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, universities, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with engagement activities such as workshops, presentations, and networking events to promote the program.
- Monitor placement progress, provide support to interns and graduates, and address any challenges that arise during placements.
- Maintain accurate program records, work placement agreements, and documentation in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to reporting on program outcomes, business development activity, and opportunities for improvement.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you are a proactive, organised, and people-focused professional with a passion for supporting early-career talent. Specifically, you:
- Have experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, or program coordination, ideally in a training, education, or workforce development environment.
- Are highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and can confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Are collaborative, adaptable, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team, but can also work independently.
- Are solution-focused, with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective strategies to achieve outcomes.
- Have a genuine interest in supporting students and graduates to gain meaningful work experience.
- Be willing to travel across the wider metropolitan area to support host employers, engagement activities, and placements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed team focused on delivering high-quality training and career opportunities across the Defence and broader industry sectors. The role offers an attractive salary package, including a car allowance, and flexible working arrangements making this ideal for parents returning to work or anyone seeking part-time hours with the potential for extension or permanency.
If you’re ready to support early-career professionals and contribute to the growth of a dynamic program, we’d love to hear from you.
