About The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is now available for an Asset Analyst to join our team based in Christchurch.
Reporting to the National Asset Manager, this integral role will support the delivery of maintenance, project and infrastructure works for our major telecommunications contract in New Zealand. The role will involve reviewing, validating, and identifying asset condition issues and escalating critical risks when required. You will work closely with the maintenance team generating reports and analysis to support asset performance monitoring and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of maintenance, project, and infrastructure works under the Chorus contract, one of the organisation’s largest national contracts
- Review and analyse drone footage, photographs, and asset condition data across approximately 40 sites per month, including generators, batteries, and related infrastructure
- Validate asset information by comparing field data and imagery against existing records in the Maximo asset management system
- Identify asset condition issues, quantify findings, and escalate critical risks or defects in line with asset management and safety requirements
- Maintain and improve asset data quality by updating asset records, raising work orders, and supporting ongoing data rectification activities
- Collaborate closely with operational teams and maintenance planners, ensuring insights from analysis are translated into actionable maintenance plans
- Generate basic reports and analysis outputs to support asset performance monitoring and decision-making
- Contribute to continuous improvement of asset management practices, supporting Chorus’s strong focus on long-term asset health and lifecycle management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have an analytical mindset and a strong interest in asset management and infrastructure. You will be comfortable working with large volumes of asset data, imagery, and system records, and enjoy turning information into practical insights that support maintenance and planning decisions.
Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:
- Experience working with asset information, maintenance systems, or infrastructure data in an office-based environment
- Strong analytical skills, with confidence using Excel and interpreting asset condition data
- Familiarity with asset management systems (such as Maximo) or a willingness to quickly learn new digital tools
- The ability to assess asset condition, identify issues, and prioritise actions based on risk and criticality
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
