Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster out of Perth, this role is suited to a qualified and experienced ARO who understands the demands of aviation operations in a remote environment.

The Opportunity

As an Aerodrome Reporting Officer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the aerodrome, supporting aircraft movements and maintaining critical infrastructure.

This is a hands-on, safety-critical role where you will be involved in both core ARO duties and broader aviation/site support activities.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring all aspects of the aerodrome are safe, serviceable, and compliant with CASA regulations, while supporting day-to-day aviation operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily and non-routine aerodrome serviceability inspections across runways, taxiways, aprons, and facilities
  • Monitor and report on aerodrome conditions, including weather, hazards, and operational impacts
  • Maintain accurate records in line with CASA regulations, aerodrome manuals, and safety systems
  • Identify and manage foreign object debris (FOD), hazards, and operational risks
  • Support NOTAM processes and aeronautical reporting requirements
  • Assist with airside works and operational restrictions, ensuring safe access and compliance
  • Support aircraft movements and general airside operations, including coordination with crews and ground teams
  • Assist with terminal and site aviation activities, including passenger movement and general operational support
  • Participate in aerodrome emergency response activities and maintain airside safety standards
  • Support general aerodrome maintenance and housekeeping activities where required
 

About You

You’re a qualified Aerodrome Reporting Officer with a strong understanding of aviation safety, compliance, and operational requirements.

You’re comfortable working in a dynamic FIFO environment, balancing structured inspection duties with broader operational responsibilities.

 

You will have:

  • Proven experience as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO)
  • Strong understanding of CASA regulations, MOS Part 139, and aerodrome operations
  • Experience conducting aerodrome inspections and reporting
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and respond to changing operational conditions
  • Strong situational awareness and safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
 

Requirements

  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
  • Current National Police Check (valid within the last 3 months)
  • Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) qualification – required
  • Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) – required

 

Location Requirement:
Candidates must be Perth-based (or able to commute to Perth for flights) or reside in Kalgoorlie.
