About The Opportunity
Programmed Facility Management are currently seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at 29 Metals Capricorn Copper Site . This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic catering team delivering high-quality food services within a remote mining village environment.
Working within a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, this position plays a key role in maintaining food quality, presentation standards, stock management, and food safety compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting quality meals, managing inventory and stock rotation, drafting food orders for approval, and ensuring consistent service standards are achieved across all meal periods. The role requires a motivated individual who can work autonomously while contributing positively to a team-focused environment.
Nature of position: Full time /FIFO
Location: Capricorn Copper Mine, Queensland
Reporting line: Vilage Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals across all service periods
- Maintain food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and waste minimisation initiatives
- Assist with Food orders
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
About You
-
To join our team, you will have previous experience working within a high-volume commercial kitchen, FIFO village, mining camp, remote site, or hospitality environment, a passion for producing quality food, and a strong commitment to the safety of yourself and others. Additionally, you will have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Current Food Safety and Food Handling knowledge
- Strong ability to work autonomously and manage daily kitchen operations with minimal supervision
- Experience in drafting site food orders and managing inventory requirements for approval
- Sound understanding of stock control, stock rotation, and inventory management practices
- Strong focus on food quality, presentation standards, and customer satisfaction
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and HACCP compliance
- Excellent organisational and time management skills in a high-volume catering environment
