The Role

Programmed Industrial Maintenance is currently seeking a casual electrician for maintenance and operational support on ship to shore container cranes at the Port of Brisbane.

The site works a 24-hour 7day operation, the successful applicant will be offered work ideally with a weeks' notice, if available to help cover maintenance and operational support. Cover for day, evenings and night shifts throughout the week and weekends could be required. Must be comfortable and capable to work at heights.

Previous heavy industrial experience, with PLC, and variable speed drives are highly regarded, Site familiarization and training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to breakdowns and repairs.
• Abilitiy to solve complex problems, think outside the box and a drive for solution.
• Ensure all machine settings are operationally correct and are set in accordance with supporting documentation.
• Carry out preventative, planned corrective and reactive maintenance
• Condition based maintenance and reliability-based maintenance inspections
• Carry out repairs on faulty equipment and improve the reliability of the equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on equipment.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

The ideal candidate will possess the following;

• Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Certificate
• Hold a current A Grade Electrical License
• Experienced with PLC and automated equipment. 
• Strong knowledge of VSD, soft starters and motor control troubleshooting
• Experience in set up and fault finding.
• Working knowledge of electrical control systems.
• High risk qualifications - Highly regarded (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform)
