Step into a day in the life of a Buyer Assistant at Mimco where product, planning and collaboration come together to bring each collection to life.
From analysing sales and tracking orders to coordinating samples and supporting range development, you will help turn ideas into commercially successful product. Working closely with Buying, Design and suppliers, you will play a key role in delivering the right product at the right time.

How you will contribute
Assist Buyer in building seasonal ranges aligned to brand strategy and customer
Support development of new products from concept to final sample
Maintain and update range plans, option plans, and line sheets
Track samples, approvals, and critical path timelines
Sample management, ownership & organisation
Liaise with Design, Planning, and suppliers to ensure smooth product flow
Assist Buyer in preparation for Range review & Sign off meetings
Monitor weekly trade reports (sales, sell-through, margins)
Assist in preparing weekly trade reporting ensuring all documents are completed, and samples prepared ready for Buyer and Head of Buying prior to the trade review
Identify bestsellers and slow movers with clear actions
Support reorders, repeats, and markdown decisions
Provide insights on pricing, competitors, and customer trends
Communicate with suppliers on production, timelines, and changes
Support cost price negotiations and margin tracking
Maintenance of Fabric lead times, Fabric booking & Cut dates in MR (Smart sheets)
Tracking of Lab Dips & testing requirements in partnership with Design.
Capabilities we value
Experience in Retail or Customer Service
Relevant Tertiary education (fashion, marketing, business, commerce) is desirable but not essential
Strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to develop strong relationships across the business
Intermediate Microsoft Office skill in Outlook, Work, Excel, Powerpoint
Strong planning and time management
Strong customer focus with a professional approach
Demonstrated ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
Working well within a team.
