The Project 

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years. 

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including: 

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
  • RAAF Base Wagga 

The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including: 

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
  • Construction of new training facilities
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your opportunity

As the Site Engineer you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of construction works for the Riverina project.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring key construction requirements and implementing prompt corrective action if required, to ensure they are achieved in line with agreed specifications
  • Managing subcontractors and suppliers work
  • Managing the verification of conformance for works under control
  • Maintaining all relevant project document control and records
  • Managing temporary works design and ensuring all relevant approvals are obtained
  • Promoting and enforcing safety, environmental, and quality procedures in all on-site activities, in line with both project and regulatory requirements

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Previous site-based experience on major building projects.
  • Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and project documentation
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance
 

These roles can be based either in Albury-Wodonga/Wagga areas. There is an attractive relocation package that includes removalist costs and LAFHA (for eligible individuals).
