Your opportunity 

This is the kind of project that doesn't come along every day and some projects are bigger than the job title. We're looking for a Construction Manager to lead delivery on a major data centre project that will help power Australia's growing digital infrastructure. This is a complex build with demanding programme targets, multiple stakeholders and a huge amount of activity happening simultaneously.

You'll be the person bringing it all together on site. Leading teams, driving subcontractor performance, solving problems before they become delays and creating the environment that allows people to do their best work. It's a role for someone who enjoys being in the thick of delivery, making decisions, influencing outcomes and seeing tangible progress every day. If you've built your career leading challenging projects and thrive when there's a lot happening, you'll find plenty to get your teeth into here.

Key responsibilities 

You'll lead the construction effort on site, keeping the project moving safely, efficiently and to programme. From coordinating multiple trades and work fronts to driving subcontractor performance and holding teams accountable for delivery, you'll be the person setting the pace. You'll work closely with project leadership to plan upcoming activities, manage emerging risks and make sure construction stays on track as the project evolves.

This isn't a role where you'll be sitting behind reports waiting for updates. You'll be visible on site, making decisions, solving problems and working with the team to overcome the daily challenges that come with delivering a project of this scale. There will be competing priorities, programme pressures and plenty of moving parts. Your focus will be on keeping work moving, removing obstacles, driving performance and making sure the project continues to deliver against key milestones.

What you'll bring

You've led enough projects to know that things don't always go to plan. We're looking for someone who can make good decisions, earn the respect of the people around them and keep work moving when challenges arise.

We're looking for someone who can walk onto a site, quickly work out what's working, what's not and where attention is needed. Someone who can earn respect from subcontractors, challenge when required and make decisions that keep the project moving.

You'll bring experience delivering large and complex projects, along with the ability to balance programme, quality, safety and commercial outcomes without losing sight of the bigger picture. Most importantly, you'll be a leader people want to follow. The kind of person who stays calm when the pressure is on, takes ownership when issues arise and creates a culture where teams perform because they want to, not because they have to.
