We are seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join our team and provide end-to-end HR support across our Queensland project portfolio, including building, civil construction, infrastructure and other project-based operations.

Based in Brisbane, this role will involve regular travel to regional project sites throughout Queensland to partner closely with leaders, employees and project teams, ensuring practical and commercially focused people solutions are delivered where they are needed most.

About the Role

Reporting to the P&C Lead, with a strong connection to the broader P&C Advisory Hub, you will play a key role in delivering strategic and operational people support across CPB’s Queensland project portfolio. Working closely with project leaders, employees and the Advisory Hub team, you will provide practical, commercially focused HR advice and solutions that support project delivery and business performance.

This is a true P&C generalist position that will see you partnering with leaders across a number of sectors. You will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including workforce mobilisation and demobilisation, employee and industrial relations, performance management, talent initiatives and learning and development.

Based in Brisbane, the role requires regular travel to regional project sites across Queensland, providing on-the-ground support and building strong relationships with operational teams. As a trusted advisor, you will work collaboratively with the P&C Advisory Hub and broader P&C support functions to ensure consistent, compliant and people-focused outcomes are delivered across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive HR support and guidance to leaders and employees across multiple project sites.
  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, mobilisation, transfers and demobilisation.
  • Support workforce planning and resource mobilisation requirements for project-based operations.
  • Provide advice and coaching on performance management, conduct, grievances and disciplinary matters.
  • Partner with leaders on employee relations and industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements and company policies.
  • Support recruitment activities and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with operational leaders and contribute to the successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Conduct regular visits to regional and remote project sites across Queensland.

About You

You are an experienced and practical HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and understands the realities of project-based workforces.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a generalist P&C Advisory role, with a minimum of five years’ experience.
  • Experience supporting blue-collar, trade-based or project workforces within construction, civil, infrastructure, engineering, mining or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations and employee relations frameworks.
  • Experience managing performance management, disciplinary and workplace investigations.
  • Exposure to workforce mobilisation and demobilisation processes.
  • Experience supporting learning and development initiatives.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
