Systems Connect (an unincorporated Joint Venture between CPB Contractors and UGL Engineering) is delivering the Line-wide Works (LW Works) package of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest (SMCSW) project, which will extend Sydney Metro Northwest to the CBD and beyond to Bankstown. SMCSW is being delivered through a suite of contracts for the tunnels, stations, line-wide infrastructure, and systems.

We have positions available for Project Engineers to support the BSP & Portion 4 team within the Southwest section of the project (Sydenham to Bankstown).  You will be responsible for managing the effective coordination of design, procurement and construction / subcontractors for the Traction Substations Transportable Buildings and structures, associated transformers, rectifiers and other packages such as LV installations, DC positive and negative feeders to ensure safety, time, cost and environmental objectives are achieved.  We are interested in your previous project delivery experience on large-scale building projects.

About the Role

The Project Engineer’s main responsibilities will include:

  • Track logistics - bill of materials deliveries
  • Interfacing w/ station Contractors
  • Managing booking of equipment
  • Planning at level 5 to send weekly updates inputs to the Level 4 planner
  • Three weeks look ahead - Communicate with HV Senior Supervisor
  • Keep track of defects and non-conformances. Look for closure of QA lots
  • Keep track of dates for major equipment to be received on-site and Communicate well with SPE’s, Managers, Interface Engineers

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
  • Previous experience in managing subcontract packages on large scale building projects.
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team
  • Experience in procurement to ensure deliveries meet construction schedule requirements.
  • Ability to implement safe work systems & environmental controls.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
