Contracts Administrator - CopperString 2032

The Project 

UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.

The project scope includes:


•    500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
•    330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
•    220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
•    Up to six new substation sites.


This exciting project has commenced, and we are currently looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator with who has worked on large scale projects with a Tier 1 construction company to join the team. The role will be based in the Brisbane office in Bowen Hills.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Preparation and issuance of tender packages.
  • Negotiation and preparation of contracts for award.
  • Evaluation of variation claims and issuing assessments for review and approval by management.
  • Management of subcontractor payment claims.
  • Preparation and issuance of contract correspondence to Contractors.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team:

  • Experience in the procurement and management of subcontract packages for large-scale projects.
  • Effective contract negotiation skills and ability to assess large complex claims and variations.
  • Robust understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Engineering, Construction Management would be considered advantageous.
  • Available to travel if required, based on the project needs.
