The Project 

Queensland Government-owned corporation, Sunwater is planning for the construction of a new dam wall immediately downstream from the existing Paradise Dam on the Burnett River.

The project is a large, multi-year project that will ensure a safe and secure water supply for the Bundaberg region for future generations.

This role is part of the Paradise Alliance, formed by Sunwater to deliver the Paradise Dam Improvement Project, with CPB Contractors / Georgiou appointed as major construction partner and GHD as the ongoing design partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting, planning, coordinating and administering construction engineering activities in line with the project documentation.
  • Assisting the Senior Project Engineer in preparing accurate monthly reports.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions.
  • Active management and liaising with site-based personnel, subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Developing and monitoring KPI and productivity analysis against program and budget.
  • Managing the short and long term construction planning for works under control including submitting, start-up planning and programming.
  • Developing and monitoring KPI and productivity analysis against program and budget.
  • Actively and positively liaising with project teams including sub-contractors & suppliers.
  • Development of SHEQ process and procedures and management of others in conducting SHEQ process and procedures.
  • Applying engineering principles to comply with scope of works and technical criteria (SWTC)
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.

Requirements for this role:

  • Recognised Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer working on large scale projects with a tier 1 company. 
  • Previous experience in RCC – Roller Compacted Concrete experience, TMR, concrete formwork highly regarded.
  • Proven commercial experience in forecasting and budget management, EOM Process and cost tracking skills.

Note this role will initially be based in our Alliance office in Brisbane but will transition to a full time, site-based basis. You must be willing to work on site either FIFO or DIDO
