Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).

SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.

Primary purpose of the position
To oversee and provide efficient and effective administrative planning and support to project(s) and site(s) ensuring that corporate policy is adhered to.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Subcontract Administration
- Administer executed contracts to correctly value variation claims and facilitate the prompt completion of the project works.
- Maintain and update procurement and subcontract registers as needed to facilitate management oversight of the commercial function.
Financial Administration:
- Utilise JDE to set up and administer subcontractor payment claims and invoices within the agreed terms of our subcontracts.
- Collect and submit accrual information monthly to enable accurate presentation of the Cost to Date position.
Project Controls / Forecasting:
- Assist with the collection of daily site production data (incl dockets) so that the project can assess expected daily expenditure and the associated production levels.
- Work with engineers to review the costs and quantities to ensure that the forecast cost at completion is accurate, reliable and justifiable.
General Administration:
- Support the wider project team with administrative tasks as required, noting that such tasks will depend on the successful candidate and their capability in the wider areas.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a site administration capacity.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
- Construction/Mining Industry project experience a plus
