The Project

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
  • RAAF Base Wagga

The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
  • Construction of new training facilities
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Administrator will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely administrative support to the team and contributing to the successful and safe delivery of the project.

Your responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Entering and extracting data from the incident management system
  • Assisting the site teams with training materials and presentations
  • Supporting, coordinating, and providing advice on safety practices, systems and procedures across the project
  • Communicate safety requirements to subcontractors onsite
  • Entering and extracting data from the incident management system
  • Preparing and updating all required Project Safety Plans and registers

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant experience working as a Safety Administrator within the construction industry
  • Knowledge of project risk management controls and actions
  • Knowledge of auditing, safety inspections and compliance reporting procedures and processes
  • Experience in document compliance procedures and processes and understanding of technology to support SHE(Q) systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships internally and externally

This role is locally based and for those outside of Albury/Wodonga/Wagga areas, relocation is required. An attractive relocation package that includes removalist cost and a LAFHA (for eligible individuals) will be made available to the successful applicant.
