Senior Contracts Administrator - CopperString 2032 Project

The Project
UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North-West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes:
• 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden.
• 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry.
• 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa.
• Up to six new substation sites.
The Opportunity
This exciting project has now commenced construction, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator to join the team. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, this role will be based out of the Brisbane project office located in Bowen Hills.
Key Responsibilities
- Effective management of administration of subcontract and supplier contracts.
- Leading commercial input into procurement and preparation of subcontract documents.
- Negotiation and administration of subcontract and supplier contracts within budgets.
- Assessing subcontractor claims, invoices, and variations.
- Preparation of project monthly report including providing workings completed, programmed, and cost data.
- Leading and supporting our contract administrators.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or relevant.
- Significant experience in the management of major subcontract packages for large-scale complex building or infrastructure projects, upstream experience preferred.
- Advanced competency in contracts and negotiation and ability to assess large complex claims and variations.
- Robust understanding of relevant legislation and ability to interpret and apply contracts.
- Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships, client facing.
