CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail.  Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.  CBGU JV will deliver the underground works of the project, including tunneling, four new underground stations, an over-station development at Albert Street and an above ground retail plaza at Roma Street.

 Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training Coordinator sits within the project training team. Your key focus in this role is to coordinate training on behalf of CBGU JV’s workforce and multiple subcontractors.

The key accountabilities for this role will be:

  • Coordinating training courses and funding support.
  • Liaising with Project Management and Training Organisations on the scheduling of training courses.
  • Administer the project competency management system Damstra including assisting subcontractors with the use of the system
  • Rail Safety worker registration and ensuring competency requirements in RIW system are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of Training for the project.
  • Input training policy info (CBGU &Subcontractors) for monthly client reports.
  • Create purchase requisitions and approve training invoices  
  • Ensure Attendance Register sheets are issued, completed and returned for every training session.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations.
  • Assist the HR Team with the implementation of HR/Training initiatives as required.

Our Minimum requirements for this role are:

  • 1- or 2-years’ of Training Coordination/HR or Vocational Education &Training Experience within the rail, transport, construction, mining & resources, or engineering industries (project experience preferable)
  • Knowledge of the Vocation Education and Training system including Apprenticeships and Traineeships and or Training Funding
  • Knowledge of relevant statutes and legislation relevant to the area of work, e.g., environmental legislation, Fair Work Act, Agreements, and relevant awards.

Extra Information

  • 2 days per week at training facility at Eagle Farm with 6am start
  • 3 days per week at Milton Office
  • 6 wellbeing days per annum 
  • Laptop and Mobile phone provided
