The Project

The project scope delivers a major infrastructure project in Canberra which aims to enhance public transportation by extending an existing transit system, improving connectivity between key urban areas. This project will introduce new stops and modern technology to provide a more efficient and sustainable travel experience. 

Your opportunity

This role presents an exciting opportunity to drive optimum production outcomes by effectively utilizing plant, directing subcontractors and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment. Your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Continuously overseeing work, analysing production methods and production performance and monitoring performance against program and re-assessing efficiency, taking appropriate corrective action
• Assessing and recommending plant requirements with Engineers
• Monitoring subcontractors’ performance to ensure project plans and milestones are met
• Planning and scheduling own and team’s work to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against daily program and communicating with relevant team members in relation to key dates and milestones
• Report and review on cost control

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

• AQF Certificate IV in Construction (or equivalent)
• Minimum 15 years construction experience with a minimum 2 years as a Superintendent
• Managed projects exceeding 200M, ensuring proper resource allocation and logistics.
• Experience in cost monitoring, monthly forecasting and ensuring SHEQ compliance
• Leadership, team building, client focus, planning and organizing, analytical thinking, negotiation, problem solving, conflict management and business acumen
