As part of the Safety Health Environment and Sustainability (SHES) function transformation, we’ve created a vacancy for a Senior Environment Advisor – SHES (Tender Focus) which is a key role in shaping the future performance of the organisation.
Your opportunity
The Senior Environment Advisor - SHES is a key role within the SHES function to support the effective delivery of tenders and the integration of safety, health, environmental, and sustainability considerations and practices are integrated into tenders and the pre-contract phase of projects.
This role will report to the Manager – SHES Precontracts & Tenders and support tenders nationally for CPB Contractors. We are looking for a skilled Environment professional to join the team that has proven construction project delivery experience. The position location can be based at CPB office location in Australia including Brisbane, Perth, Sydney or Melbourne.
Key accountabilities are to:
- Provide expert guidance and oversight during the tender and pre-contract phase to identify and mitigate potential Environmental risks, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and management of Environment consultants during the tender and pre-contract phase to identify and mitigate potential SHES risks, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
- Support tender teams in the preparation of tender documents as per the Tender Plan and Program considering project risks and opportunities.
- Participate in client engagement sessions and tender reviews.
- Review and compare contract documentation and terms against the tender documents and the basis of the tender submission
Skills & experience:
- Qualifications in Environmental Science and/or Engineering coupled with experience in environmental compliance within a construction environment.
- Proven experience in Environmental management in a large multi-disciplinary organisation ideally construction or resource sector.
- High level relationship management and communication skills across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Direct experience in sectors such as construction, engineering, infrastructure, mining and telecommunications.
- Previous experience in Project tenders and delivery.
This role supports the CPB Contractors business across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and will be based in one of our HQ locations.
