Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Key Accountabilities

As the Logistics Supervisor you will play a key role in leading warehouse and logistics activities on large-scale projects. You will coordinate materials flow, supervise logistics personnel, and maintain accurate inventory and compliance records to support across all project activities of HumeLink West project.  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations, including receiving, dispatch, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Ensure all transport, loading, and unloading activities comply with WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and site requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory systems, stocktakes, and reconciliation for audit purposes.
  • Develop, update, and enforce work instructions and standard operating procedures for all logistics activities.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules, laydown areas, load movements, and site access to minimise delays and congestion.
  • Supervise and mentor warehouse and logistics personnel, promoting a safe and efficient work culture.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Monitor KPIs and prepare daily/weekly logistics performance reports for project leadership.
  • Manage equipment, plant, and vehicle utilization in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing compliance with the Heavy Vehicle Management Plan and other logistics-related plans.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team:

  • Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience on large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing, logistics, and materials handling processes.
  • Frontline Management or similar supervisor training preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to WHS procedures.
  • Experience overseeing shipping, receiving, and storage of materials.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory and stock reconciliation records.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.

 

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
