About CPB

CPB Contractors is Australia’s leading contractor, and as part of the CIMIC Group, we are proud to be constructing New Zealand’s future and do so collaboratively with our partners and clients.

We hire for careers, not project life. CPB Contractors has more than 50 major infrastructure projects in delivery, across all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads and bridges, rail, tunnelling, defence, airports, buildings and resources, providing you with career opportunities for years to come.

The Project

The New Dunedin Hospital project is the single largest hospital project ever undertaken in New Zealand. Spanning 71,700m2 and constructed on the former Cadbury Chocolate Factory in the centre of the city, the Inpatient Building will provide high-quality acute medical facilities in support of its role as a tertiary teaching hospital. Onsite services will include 424 beds, including future expansion of 53 beds. A total of 24 theatres, including a future capacity of 2 theatres, imaging suites and radiology.

Your Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Digital Engineering Coordinator to join our project team for the delivery of the New Dunedin Hospital Project. In this role, you will support the Digital Engineering Team in achieving project digital deliverables, ensuring the streamlined coordination, management, and implementation of advanced digital solutions.

This role is perfect for a motivated professional with a strong foundation in Digital Engineering and the desire to apply technical expertise to a high-profile healthcare infrastructure project. You will be central to integrating digital workflows, managing complex engineering models, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing federated models, conducting regular model health checks, and addressing emerging challenges where needed.
  • Supporting engineering teams with visual planning and advancing construction methodologies by leveraging 3D models and 4D schedule simulation tools.
  • Coordination of digital scopes with internal teams and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration for seamless project delivery.
  • Driving innovation and adopting industry best practices in Digital Engineering workflows to ensure efficient digital delivery.
  • Administering the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring effective data management and quality control.
  • Conducting technical audits and maintaining Level of Detail (LOD) and Level of Information (LOI) standards across engineering models.
  • Supporting engineers in virtual design reviews and issue resolution through clash detection and modelling tools such as Navisworks, iConstruct, Revizto, BIM360, ProjectWise, and others.
  • Applying digital skills such as model federation, parametric design, data interoperability, and automation to enhance overall project workflows.
  • Sharing knowledge and ensuring consistent applications of BIM practices across the team and wider project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
  • 3+ years of experience working within a complex building or large infrastructure project environment.
  • Proficiency in engineering design, modelling, and documentation software, with hands-on technical expertise in a range of BIM tools and virtual design processes.
  • Strong experience with model management, clash detection, issue resolution, and federated modelling techniques using tools such as Navisworks, Revizto, BIM360, and ProjectWise.
  • Familiarity with delivering high-quality designs and documentation on large-scale projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Digital Engineering technologies, including data interoperability, information exchange processes, and automation.
  • Programming skills and interest in digital automation will be considered favourably.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage priorities effectively.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, mature workers, Veterans and Active Defence Reserve members, people with disabilities and people from different cultural backgrounds. • A rewarding career where we support your development, training and promote from within.
  • Opportunities across all construction sectors so that there is always an opportunity suitable for the next stage in your career.
  • Competitive remuneration and excellent benefits including a health and wellbeing program, discount portal and company-funded salary continuance insurance.
  • Flexible work arrangements and a culture that values diversity and innovation.
