Your opportunity 

This is a high impact leadership role where you will drive the delivery of CPB’s Safety and Health strategy across the business. You will shape how safety is embedded in day to day operations by designing and delivering initiatives that go beyond compliance and create real, lasting impact. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you will challenge the status quo, simplify systems, and remove complexity to enable safer and more efficient ways of working.

Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager, you will work closely with project teams, providing both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across safety governance and performance.

  • Driving the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Business SHEQ strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Providing clear, trusted guidance on SHEQ Essentials and CMS safety systems to build capability across the business
  • Proactively identifying gaps, risks, and inconsistencies, and taking ownership to resolve them
  • Leading training and system change initiatives from planning through to delivery, ensuring strong engagement and adoption
  • Partnering with leaders and project teams to embed practical and effective safety practices into everyday work
  • Leading or supporting complex ICAM investigations, delivering thorough root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
  • Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on SHEQ performance, using insights to drive continuous improvement

 

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Proven experience in SHEQ, safety governance, or risk related roles within a complex environment
  • Strong expertise in ICAM investigations and incident analysis
  • Hands on experience with safety management systems such as CMS or similar platforms
  • A track record of leading change and delivering effective, engaging training
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions
