The Project

CPB is working on a major infrastructure project involving the construction and delivery of a large scale, highly technical facility.  We are currently seeking an experienced Social Inclusion and Aboriginal Participation Manager to join our project delivery team, working on a complex, fast paced construction environment.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking candidates who are open to a FIFO arrangement from interstate locations or can be based in Brisbane with frequent site travel to regional Queensland. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working a 15:6 roster, supporting project requirements both on site and remotely.

As a Social Inclusion and Aboriginal Participation Manager, the key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Management and compliance with the Workforce Development and Industry Participation Management Plan and the Aboriginal Participation Plan
2. Ensure the project meets its commitments relating to the Workforce Development and Industry Participation requirements of the deed including:

• Apprentices and Trainees
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation
• Engaging Australian and New Zealand Small and Medium Enterprises (ANZ SME’s)
• Engaging certified Aboriginal Businesses in the supply chain
• Local sustainable employment
• Disadvantaged and under represented groups
• Females, including females in non-traditional roles

3. Proactively engage with subcontractors on requirements relating to Workforce Development and Industry Participation
4. Managing the delivery of pre-employment programs
5. Client reporting, monthly, quarterly and as required

The successful candidate will ideally have: 

1. 5+ years’ experience in a workforce development or human resources role
2. Experience in planning and implementing programs and strategies to deliver on commitments
3. Exceptional organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
4. Experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
5. Experience in problem solving and conflict management
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
