The Opportunity

Are you an experienced technology professional with a passion for autonomy, communications systems and mining technology? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated FMS Technology & Autonomy Leading Hand to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont Mine, Queensland.

Reporting to the Electrical, Technology and Autonomous Supervisor as a key member of the Lake Vermont team, you will supervise and support your team to maintain the reliability and performance of fleet management systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and autonomous technology networks, enabling safe and efficient mining operations.

Roster: 7/7 Even Time (Dayshift Only) | Location: Lake Vermont Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the FMS Technology & Autonomy Leading Hand, you will:

  • Provide supervision and help to your team in line with the Lake Vermont SHMS.
  • Install, commission, service, repair and maintain fleet monitoring systems, site telecommunications, Wi-Fi, radio, wireless communication systems and autonomous fleet networks.
  • Respond to breakdowns on site FMS equipment, autonomous systems and communication networks.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years' industry experience with fleet monitoring systems,  telecommunications and/or autonomy radio and wireless networks.
  • Must hold G1, G8 & G9
  • Experience with JDE or similar Asset Management Systems.
  • Strong computer and communication skills
  • Technical knowledge of wireless communications, radio, networking and autonomous technology systems.
  • Current Standard 11 and Driver's Licence.
  • Relevant coal mining certifications and verified skills transcripts.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
