Job Duties

  • Support the management & administration of all aspects of quality across the project, including consistent and effective implementation of quality framework/ management systems which are routinely monitored, assessed and improved as necessary
  • Maintain management system documentation that is compliant with ISO9001 (policies, procedures, guidelines, checklists, training material) and other internal and external required standards
  • Develop and communicate the quality management system and framework (including forms, checklist, and similar) to the project team
  • Coordinate the establishment of project electronic document management system (EDMS) and filing system
  • Establish quality and training program
  • Coordinate the resolution of significant quality issues and adverse quality trends
  • Evaluate Construction Lots Owners/ Subcontractors and supplier compliance with the quality requirements
  • Check inspections and test results from internal and external sources such as subcontractors, suppliers and third-party laboratories
  • Support continual improvement by raising NCR’s, conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions to rectify issues and prevent recurrence
  • Track corrective and preventive actions identified during the audit and drive the immediate closeout
  • Provide quality related inputs to procurement process, Construction Method Statements (CMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
  • Guide the quality team and in maintaining quality related documents in a systematic manner in the company and project database; set-up and regularly monitor in the Aconex
  • Ensure in process and final documentation for the project is compiled in a timely manner i.e. uploading of construction lots in the Aconex
  • Communicate and report quality issues to concern parties including the Quality Manager
  • Develop and deliver relevant training programmes to the construction and project team, as required
  • Support the training and awareness of the QMS.
  • Develop and implement internal quality projects and initiatives to drive business improvement by reviewing processes and documentation and monitor audit findings closeout
  • Conduct internal audit and implement the quality audit strategy by managing a risk-based audit program
  • Coordinate and participate in external and third-party audits
  • Conduct periodic site visits and maintain oversight on the products/services / supplies from contractors, sub-contractors and vendors; monitor adherence to standards defined in the approved quality plan and related quality control procedures / methods
  • Inspect testing equipment and facilities for required certification and calibration;
  • Report incidents of quality defects and non-compliances to the manager
  • Evaluate performance of subordinates and provide them with regular feedback
  • Mentor subordinates on technical aspects of their respective roles
  • Provide opportunities to the team to develop their capabilities and be exposed on other areas of the work

 Job Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or any related Construction discipline, preferably licensed Engineer
  • Auditor for Quality Management System ISO 9001
  • Conduct training/presentation in Quality Plan and Quality Procedures related to QMS
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through collaboration and consultation
  • Total experience: 7–10 years
  • Relevant QA/QC experience: minimum 5–7 years in construction projects
  • Prior experience leading a team or discipline function preferred
  • Knowledgeable with quality assurance and ISO certifications requirements
  • Familiar with quality auditing techniques and standards
