The Opportunity 

We are seeking experienced Leading Hands – Field Maintenance to take on a range of maintenance activities and supervision at Pembroke Resource’s new project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex. 

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-East of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure

About The Role 

Working a 7/7 day/night shift roster and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your duties will include:

  • Leadership of skilled mobile maintenance team following Supervisors’ and Superintendents’ directives 
  • Fulfil the Maintenance Supervisors’ duties in their absence
  • Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment as directed in accordance with Thiess servicing, lubrication, and maintenance systems documentation 
  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems 
  • Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel 
  • Source and requisition parts and/or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure 
  • Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected

  • Cert III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent
  • Current Standard 11
  • Current S123 & RIIRIS402E G2 
  • Proven mining experience with exposure to leading or supervising mobile maintenance HD Fitters 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams 
  • You will also need to always possess high regard and practice health and safety
