About the role

Our Lake Vermont project located 19kms north of Dysart is offering a permanent position within their Coal Handling Production Plant as a Co-Disposal Operator.

As our next CHPP Operator (Tailings Dam) reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results within a high-performance team.

This role will see you working a 12.5 hour day shift only, 7/7 Roster (Wednesday - Tuesday).

 In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Moving Co-Disposal Cannons and Pipelines
  • Day to day reporting and recording of Dam Levels, Cannon and Co-Disposal Line Positions 
  • Maintain Traffic Management of Co-disposal Areas
  • Maintaining Drainage in the Co-Disposal Areas
  • Stockpile Dozing
  • Housekeeping of Dams
  • Maintaining water quality
  • A commitment to a positive safety culture, hazard identification and Pre-Starts
  • A commitment to our principles of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Delivery

About you

Role Requirements as a Co-Disposal Operator at Lake Vermont:

  • Excavator – RII/Experience
  • Dozer– RII/Experience
  • Skid Steer– RII/Experience
  • Current HR Drivers Licence 
  • Relevant coal mining certifications – inclusive of a current Standard 11
  • Verified machinery skills list (training transcripts), signed by SSE  
  • A proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of a world-class team to deliver excellence for our clients 
  • A genuine interest in building a career with Thiess 
  • Prior experience operating production mining equipment on a mine site 
  • A commitment to a positive safety culture
