About the role

Thiess is currently seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Supervisor to join our team at the Olive Downs Complex on an 8/6 day shift roster.

Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

In this newly created position, as our next HV Electrical Supervisor reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a vital role in supporting our ongoing operations. You will be tasked with ensuring the relevant maintenance is conducted to maximise fleet availability at minimal cost. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining a safe, reliable, and productive crew.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and mentoring others.
  • Oversee all aspects of Electrical project delivery, including implementation and maintenance.
  • Monitor the availability of electrical site assets to support project KPIs.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to electrical assets on the project.
  • Ensure work is carried out in compliance with safety guidelines, legislative requirements, Thiess company policies, Australian mining procedures, and client specifications.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working on HME in a mining environment
  • Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate
  • S1,S2,S3 & G2
  • Extensive post trade experience in high voltage equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrate previous supervisory experience with a proven ability to mentor apprentices and tradespeople new to the industry.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and the community
  • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of relevant mining related legislation
