About The Role

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for optimising payroll processes and driving transformational change? We're seeking an experienced Payroll Improvement Manager to spearhead our organisation's payroll enhancement initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll lead the charge in developing and implementing strategic improvements to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while identifying efficiencies and streamlining operations. Your expertise in process design, change management, and team leadership will be crucial as you guide both day-to-day improvements and large-scale transformation projects. Additionally, you will:

  • Monitor and review payroll processes, recommending improvements for efficiency and compliance while collaborating with the Payroll Compliance Lead to mitigate risks. 

  • Conduct research and analysis for strategic projects, developing solutions through root-cause analysis and promoting standardised time and attendance practices. 

  • Prepare change documentation using structured approaches to facilitate adoption and minimise disruption, ensuring effective communication and training activities. 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Payroll Improvement team, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and vendors to meet business requirements. 

  • Design induction training for new payroll staff, create development pathways, and deliver training on payroll process changes to support team growth. 

  

About You

You possess strong leadership and strategic planning skills, along with extensive experience in change management and delivering outcomes in payroll processes. Your excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are complemented by a proven track record in business improvement and innovative solutions. With your effective communication and interpersonal skills, you excel at conducting high-level consultations and negotiations. Your demonstrated organizational skills enable you to implement and report on new initiatives, while your solid understanding of payroll and time attendance systems ensures technical proficiency. Your experience in end-to-end project management, coupled with your ability to meet deadlines and apply a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and implementing change, will be key to your success in this vital role. 

  

Additionally you have:

  • Business and/or HR Degree, or equivalent qualifications / experience. 

  • 5 to 10 years' experience in E2E payroll management in medium / large organisations. 

  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement in a payroll function.
