In this role, you’ll be joining our Corporate Technical Services Team, where digital transformation meets operational expertise. From spatial analytics to real-time data integration, we use GIS to solve complex challenges across a range of commodities and geographies.

We’re looking for a Senior GIS Analyst to join our Brisbane office and support the ongoing success of our integrated geospatial operations across Australia and internationally. You’ll play a key role in delivering digital spatial insights that drive responsible resource development, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do:

As a Senior GIS Analyst you will support a diverse range projects worldwide, assisting the daily work of professionals from disciplines such as survey, environmental, geological, geotechnical, drill and blast, mine planning and more. You can expect to grow your knowledge and demonstrate your talents through the following tasks:

  • Develop GIS applications and tools for global projects and tenders.
  • Provide remote and project-based technical assistance.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, reports, dashboards, and maps.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with end-user applications.
  • Provide advice, support, and training for GIS applications.
  • Identify areas for continual improvement and future enhancement.
  • Provide GIS advice/support and training to global teams.

A bit about you:

The ideal candidate should possess a Tertiary qualification in Spatial Science, Environmental, Engineering, or an equivalent field. A minimum of ten years' experience in the GIS Industry is desired, however if you have worked in a junior role and you can demonstrate your emerging abilities and talents then we encourage you to apply.

Proven experience collecting, storing and presenting a diverse range of spatial data themes, including imagery, LiDAR, infrastructure, environmental, geotechnical, geology, health and safety, and mining, is crucial to excel in this role. It is essential that the candidate has a detailed knowledge of ArcMap/ArcPro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS ImageServer and SDE Database Management, and has created applications in the desktop, web and mobile space. Other tools you can expect to use on a daily basis include ArcGIS Portal / Online, ESRI Survey123, ESRI Field Maps, and ESRI Dashboards.

A track record of generating professional-looking maps and figures, along with the ability to configure and support web mapping applications, is essential. The candidate should exhibit proficiency in conveying the value of spatial data to non-GIS colleagues and should possess experience in providing training and ongoing support in the use of GIS tools. Previous experience in the resource sector is highly valued, reflecting a nuanced understanding of the industry's unique challenges and dynamics.
