About the role
Thiess is seeking Expressions of Interest for Maintenance Supervisor positions at our QCoal Northern Hub, located approximately 100km south-west of Bowen in the beautiful Whitsunday Coast region of Queensland, just minutes from the township of Collinsville.
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of our mobile equipment fleet. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will lead and develop a high-performing team, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and mentoring others
- Manage and execute maintenance work using efficient equipment servicing strategies to achieve targeted service times and schedule compliance rates
- Ensure that work is completed within allowed budget and resources
- Assist the Maintenance Manager & Superintendents in implementing safety plans
- Play an active role in all incident investigations
- Develop and strengthen key internal and external stakeholder relationships
About you
- Experience in open cut coal mining
- Mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
- Extensive post trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment
- Previous supervisory experience
- A strong commitment to health, safety, environment and the community
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and condition monitoring
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of relevant mining related legislation
