About the role

We are offering a rare opportunity for a Cost Control Engineer to join the team looking after a large scale gold mining project.  Based out of our West Perth office this role is Monday to Friday with some adhoc site travel required.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that records are kept of the progress of the works. The records are to be organised so that others can access and utilize them for contract administration purposes.
  • Ensure the works are accurately measured and agree quantities with the client. Provide interim quantities for progress claims
  • Track Actual Costs vs Budgeted Costs vs Tendered Costs to assist the Commercial Superintendent to manage the costs of the project, the project budget and cash flow.
  • Perform cost analysis, earned budget analysis, identifying deviation (e.g. highlighting potential cost overruns or savings opportunities) and proposing mitigation actions.
  • Review and validate cost estimates provided by contractors and suppliers.
  • Seek to identify and achieve cost efficiencies and revenue opportunities. Perform the process of reviewing, approving and rejecting requisition orders, analysing purchasing requests, verifying costs allocation.

About You

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in cost control or financial management
  • Extensive experience in managing large mining projects
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. 
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
