About the role

This role is responsible for supporting the Procurement function through supplier coordination, purchase order processing, and ensuring compliance with procurement procedures that align with business requirements, incorporating best practices and training standards across Thiess' operational jurisdictions

In this role, you will:

  • Purchase goods and services in alignment with business objectives, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
  • Coordinate with internal users to ensure procurement requirements are clear, accurate, and aligned with operational needs
  • Support and encourage new ideas that enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness
  • Take an innovative approach to problem-solving and demonstrate a willingness to try different solutions to optimize procurement activities
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best terms while maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Evaluate and recommend suppliers based on quality, reliability, and performance
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for audit readiness and data tracking
  • Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance to avoid delays and disruptions
  • Provide regular reports related to procurement status, issues, and improvements

About you

  • Minimum Diploma/bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, finance/accounting or related field
  • 1 year Experience in procurement or purchasing or supply chain
  • Familiar with MS Office & ERP Knowledge / Oracle JDE
  • Good English communication skill (written and oral)
