About The Role

  • This role demands proactive ownership of procurement projects including reporting across Indigenous, Sustainability, and Emissions domains, often requiring independent problem-solving and initiative.
  • The Business Analyst must coordinate creation and maintain structured, replicable Power BI dashboards linked to Excel, consolidating diverse data sources and streamlining manual processes. Strong communication and collaboration are essential, with responsibility for engaging stakeholders and delivering accurate, timely outputs.
  • The role requires adaptability to evolving priorities, continuous improvement of reporting tools, and accountability for end-to-end delivery. Success is measured by stakeholder confidence, reliability of reporting, and the creation of scalable solutions that support procurement objectives across the business. Use AI tools to benchmark supplier contracts and automate comparisons.
  • Develop baseline models and vendor evaluations to support tender decisions.
  • Provide flexible, responsive support across procurement tasks as directed.

Additionally, you will:

  • Gather, organise and analyse relevant internal and external data to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Ensure all analysis includes measurable target outcomes related to cost savings and/or operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Procurement management and key internal stakeholders to develop a baseline for upcoming tender activities.
  • Use the baseline to build comparative models that evaluate vendor offerings, highlighting strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide data-driven support, insights or analysis for business cases as requested.
  • Assist in negotiation planning by identifying cost reduction opportunities through market trends, supplier innovations, and alternative offerings.
  • Deliver succinct analysis and recommendations to support Contract Advisors in vendor selection.
  • Ensure the dashboard provides a clear visual representation of KPI trends over time.
  • Customise the dashboard for each contract or service while maintaining a replicable structure to avoid starting from scratch for future builds.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of actual supply volume and cost performance to proactively identify trends that may lead to cost-saving opportunities or potential supplier disputes.
  • Validate price reviews against the mechanisms outlined in the contract and administer any necessary changes.
  • Ensure rebates are accurately calculated and paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Develop or coordinate development of a Power BI dashboard linked to an Excel spreadsheet to capture KPI performance over the duration of each contract.
  • Maintain a collaborative and solutions-focused approach to ensure timely and effective delivery of assigned responsibilities.
  • Using AI tools to benchmark supplier contracts against internal standards.
  • Automating routine comparisons to free up time for strategic analysis.
  • Support category managers by analysing strategic spend portfolios.
  • Help assess supplier performance and contract value across categories like mining equipment, site services, and corporate spend.
  • Provide proactive and responsive support to the Procurement team across a broad range of activities.
  • Undertake tasks as directed by Procurement management or team members, adapting to changing priorities and needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and reliability in contributing to team objectives, including administrative, analytical, and operational support.

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Law, Applied Science, or another relevant field.
  • 5 years-experience in procurement and supply chains.  Mining and /or construction experience would be desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive mining/construction industry knowledge – current practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to interface with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Time management, ability to complete tasks on time Working knowledge of the JD Edwards system.
