About The Role

  • Develop and maintain services used in application integrations.
  • Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices.
  • Work with Dev Ops and Application teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations.
  • Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components.
  • Write code to retrieve appropriate data as derived from requirements.
  • Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.
  • Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions.
  • Coordinate directly with business users and business analyst to best understand and analyse business specifications.
  • Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.

Additionally, you will:

  • Support and drive the implementation of the Thiess Governance System (TGS) and the Project Governance System (PGS)
  • Lead an experienced and motivated team to maintain safe, legal, and logical systems to provide effective controls for identified risks in the business.
  • Offer expertise leading operational safety disciplines and performance beyond compliance, significant incident management experience and possess an in depth understanding of relevant national and state health and safety legislation.
  • Be responsible for demonstrating Thiess’ values and leadership philosophy.
  • Stay committed to meeting performance targets and proactively mitigating risks whilst delivering tangible outcomes that seamlessly align with Thiess’ overall strategic health and safety framework.
  • Possess the intuitive ability to influence a safety-focused culture whilst flexing your focus to adjust to the every-changing needs of the business with a considered and collaborative approach.
  • Offer experience across the development and implementation of ISO 45001 based management systems within mining, oil, gas, construction or equivalent industry.
  • Be a highly organised person who can guide a team of highly competent individuals to ensure that operations meet the standards and policies established by Thiess and regulatory authorities.

 

About You

  • Relevant tertiary studies in Business, Engineering or Information Systems or studying towards (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
  • Formal training and certification in common integrations platform.
  • 3-5+ years of development experience.
  • Prior experience working with ERP or Supply Chain solutions.
  • Experience in XML, and experience with PHP, Python or related language.
  • Experience in structured release & deployment best practices.
  • Development experience with Java language.
  • Demonstrated experience writing Web Services, RESTFUL, or SOAP, as well as experience writing fault-tolerant code.
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical staff.
  • General knowledge of the technologies currently implemented within Thiess
  • Aptitude in architecting software and designing technical solutions
  • Experience with source code control (Git), code review workflows, and software versioning models
  • Familiarity with a structured/controlled development environment using a tracking tool (Azure DevOps Boards, JIRA, etc)
  • Familiarity with a structured/controlled development lifecycle using a CI / build / release process (Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bamboo, etc)
  • Proficiency with writing and maintaining technical documentation via a shared portal (Azure DevOps Wiki, Markdown, Confluence, etc)
  • Ability to help create a functional specification with non-technical staff
  • Ability to work from a functional specification and create a technical specification
  • Strong debugging skills and proficient software testing
  • Knowledge of or exposure to Azure Data Factory is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in common integration technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in common programming technologies such as:

         »    C#, ASP.NET & .NET Core

         »    SQL

         »    Web Services (REST/SOAP), APIs, XML

         Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Database technologies such as:

         »    SQL Server

         »    Reporting Services, Analysis Services (tabular), Power BI

  • Expose to software development within the Microsoft Azure stack, and related services and technologies such as:

         »    Azure SQL Databases, Data Factory, Analysis Services, Elastic Jobs/Queries

         »    App Services / Web Jobs, Function Apps, Logic Apps, API Management

         »    Azure AD authentication, Managed Identities

         »    Key Vaults, Storage Accounts: Blobs/Queues/Tables, App Insights

         »    Virtual/Hybrid Networking & Gateways: connecting on-prem and cloud services

  • Experience with scripting languages such as: PowerShell
  • Exposure to other database technologies such as: Oracle, Redis, NoSQL
  • Exposure to mining data capture or operational systems and related technologies
