The Opportunity

Provide data processing survey support to Thiess Mining Projects sites to ensure survey standards are maintained and supported through processing methods.

About The Role

• Develop positive relationships with Technical Services teams and specifically the survey teams.
• Active involvement in the implementation and maintenance of photogrammetry software.
• Proactively seek development and performance feedback.
• Adhere to site safety procedures and demonstrate visible leadership in safety behaviours.
• Ensure survey processes do not compromise the safety of personnel or equipment, the environment or a Project’s Environmental Management Plan.
• Ensure that all necessary records are collated and filed in accordance with company policy, statutory and contractual requirements.
• Ensure all timesheets are accurate and completed within required timeframes.
• Maintain documentation of processing times.
• Manage cost expenditure (travel expense etc.) so it is fair and reasonable and in line with company policy.
• Effective use of survey software with regard to upgrades and new processing techniques.
• Coordinate with surveyors from mining projects to deliver reliable and cost effective photogrammetry processing.
• Undertake training from Survey Specialists.
• Ensure effective communication with all internal customers by maintaining a good working liaison with relevant personnel.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in GIS/Remote Sensing, Surveying or equivalent.
  Experience in Photogrammetry processing.
• Must have understanding of survey mapping projections, datums and transformations.
• Must have experience in processing photogrammetry projects and managing large point clouds.
• Proficiency with Agisoft Metashape and Blue Marble Global Mapper software. Knowledge of other similar photogrammetry software packages will be well regarded.
• Experience with point cloud software such as Maptek iSite Studio (or similar software packages).
• Exposure to Arc Map GIS software or similar would be well regarded.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of large data storage and handling.
• Photogrammetry processing of RPAS catpured imagery.
• Point cloud filtering and export.
• Orthomosaic generation and export
