About the role 

Our Lake Vermont project located 19kms north of Dysart is offering a permanent position within their Coal Handling Production Plant as a Process Engineer.

As our next CHPP Process Engineer you will optimise coal circuits to meet plant simulated recoveries and meet production forecasts and requirements including quality specifications. Working with the CHPP operations team and reporting to the CHPP Process Superintendent, you will troubleshoot and report on yield discrepancies against predicted yields.

Additionally, you will:

  • Supervise and guide onsite sampling and the site-based laboratory staff
  • Complete weekly, monthly, and annual reporting
  • Draft and implement co-disposal weekly deposition plans and supervise their execution
  • Coordinate and manage the execution and reporting for the annual performance audits
  • Pursue and implement technological advances in the field of coal preparation
  • Liaise with other departments to realise the goals of maximising throughput and yield to produce product at the right quality
  • Direct the day-to-day management of product stockpiles in accordance with the long-term plan set to meet shipping parcels

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Process / Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy / Minerals Processing
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience to minerals/chemicals processing environment
  • Experience within an open cut coal mine is preferred but not essential
  • Exposure to a supervision type role and knowledge of the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations would be advantageous
  • Current Driver’s Licence
