Thiess are seeking an experienced Field Maintenance Supervisor for a permanent employment opportunity. 

About the role

We currently have an opportunity available for an enthusiastic Health, Safety and Training Administrator at our Curragh North project, located 30kms from Blackwater in Central QLD Reporting to the HSET Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting our project’s health, safety, environment and training performance. You will assist in maintaining HSET systems, coordinating communication and reporting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

This position offers exposure to a broad cross-section of mine site operations and the opportunity to build capability in HSET compliance, incident support, training coordination and system administration.

 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide high‑quality administrative support, including correspondence management, reporting, document preparation and general office duties.
  • Support HSET compliance through hazard identification, incident investigation assistance, audits, inspections and accurate document control.
  • Coordinate training activities such as onboarding, inductions, refresher training and maintaining LMS records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by upholding Thiess values, maintaining attention to detail and supporting project enhancement initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, participate in site meetings and represent Thiess professionally across all interactions

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate in Office Administration (desirable).
  • Current Surface Generic Induction.
  • Previous experience in an administration role (HSET experience highly desirable).

Skills & Attributes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general systems aptitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time‑management with the ability to balance routine and urgent tasks.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
