About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Officer to join the Thiess Warehouse crew at Lake Vermont. 

The Senior Warehouse Officer provides day‑to‑day leadership to Warehouse Officers and assumes responsibility for warehouse operations in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.

Your role will see you:

  • Responsible and accountable for the safe, efficient and cost‑effective operation of the warehouse, in line with Thiess processes and standards.
  • Ensure effective management of project goods and materials through receiving, dispatch, storage, issuing, inventory control, system compliance and administration to meet operational requirements and KPIs.
  • Work a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, day shift only, with the requirement to work night shifts when operationally required.
  • Act as Second‑in‑Charge (2IC) to the Warehouse Supervisor, assuming responsibility for warehouse operations during the Supervisor’s absence or when delegated.
  • Deliver high‑quality customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct warehouse inspections, address hazards, and complete daily prestart checks.
  • Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service to internal stakeholders

About You

  • Proven experience within a Senior Storeperson/Warehouse Officer/Step-Up Supervisor role is essential with high regard if in the mining industry
  • Drivers Licence & High Risk Forklift Licence is required
  • Exceptional organisational, communication and time management skills and a high standard of housekeeping ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel together with a working knowledge of JD Edwards or similar is essential

Additionally, you will have:

  • Warehouse Operations Certificate III or equivalent industry experience
  • Hazardous Material handling
  • Transport Chain of responsibility
  • Secure Cargo & Load and Unload Goods/Cargo
