About the role 

We’re currently seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Surveyor to join our high-performing team at the QCoal Northern Hub—a unique site just an hour’s drive from the stunning Whitsundays. This role would be best suited to those who live in the Whitsundays region and who enjoys working in a tight-nit team with a great culture.

The role reports directly to the Technical Services Manager and has two Surveyors directly reporting to the role. The duties of the role include:

  • Overseeing all survey work on site
  • Leading, mentoring and supervising the site surveyors
  • Provide survey support for the production team
  • Developing and maintaining survey standards and procedures
  • Follow and participate in safety requirements
  • Ensure the consistency and accuracy of the EOM reconciliation
  • Ensuring coal survey is completed to maintain accurate coal layers

About you 

We’re looking for someone that has:

  • Skilled and experience in coal mining survey practices including – scanning, photogrammetry, end of month reconciliation, set-outs, etc.
  • Good leadership and communication traits
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Tertiary survey qualification and RPAS licences
  • Experience in Vulcan
  • Proficient in relevant survey software including Maptek Point Studio
  • Proficient in photogrammetry software and techniques
  • Proficient in relevant survey software including Maptek Point Studio
  • Proficient in photogrammetry software and techniques
