The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Diesel Fitter with a strong commitment to safety and maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team at the Olive Downs Complex in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
As a key member of the Olive Downs maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing a range of mobile plant equipment, supporting safe, reliable and efficient mining operations.
Roster: 7/7 Days/Nights | Location: Olive Downs Complex, Bowen Basin, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-time
As a Diesel Fitter, you will:
- Safely maintain, repair and service a variety of mobile plant equipment in line with Thiess and industry standards.
- Perform diagnostics, fault finding, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to deliver high-quality maintenance outcomes.
- Follow work instructions and complete all required documentation to a high standard.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards to support a safe and efficient work environment.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to risk management, safe work practices and continuous improvement.
About you
To be successful in this role you are required to have:
- Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Post-trade experience within the mining or heavy earthmoving industry.
- Experience in general maintenance, breakdowns, component change-outs and servicing of heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Current Driver Licence.
- Current Standard 11 is desirable.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Demonstrated commitment to a positive safety culture.
