About the role
The Lead Human Resources is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures, ensuring the availability and effective use of Human Resources to achieve business and project objectives across the Mongolia business as well as integration with Thiess
In this role, you will:
- Lead and direct the HR team to enable them to deliver effective and efficient HR services to the business;
- Proactively advise the Executive Director on best HR practices and support the people management functions that reinforce the company culture;
- Support and advise Senior Management in development and implementation of people strategy;
- Ensure effective coordination and communication between projects and head office, focusing on standardizing systems and procedures to conform with Thiess;
- In conjunction with the Executive Director develop the local HR policies, procedures and initiatives
- Coordinate recruitment , selection, induction, termination and training of staff to meet agreed business needs in accordance with business requirements;
- Manage talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns;
- Administer remuneration policies and employment contracts for all staff, advising on competitive conditions and internal remuneration anomalies, and preparing remuneration, reviewing the information to enable management to conduct reviews effectively;
- Ensure all HR activities comply with relevant laws and government acts, legal and procedural demands and ethical standards;
- Monitor and guide the roll-out and take-up of Thiess HR system applications in Mongolia, and be responsible for their compliance and auditing;
- Coordinate performance appraisals and development strategy;
- Deal with complex disciplinary/grievance and HR issues, using HR and company knowledge evidencing appropriate decision making skills;
About you
- Minimum holds Bachelor Degree in HR or relevant discipline with 5-7 years of work experience, particularly in mining industry
- Advanced English skills;
- Proficient in MS Office applications
