About The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Drill and Blast Engineers to lead safe, efficient and compliant drill and blast outcomes at our projects in the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this role is hands‑on and execution focused, working closely with Production and the client to deliver high‑quality blast designs and performance.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the design and delivery of drill, load and timing plans to support production targets.
• Develop and review through‑seam blasting (TSB) designs, ensuring compliance with site and legislative requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of drilling and blasting activities to ensure execution aligns with approved designs.
• Complete post‑blast analysis and drive improvements across fragmentation, vibration, coal recovery and cost.
• Identify and manage technical risk within drill and blast designs.
• Coach and mentor drill and blast engineers, including peer reviews and workload management.
• Build strong working relationships with Production, site leadership and client stakeholders.

About you

• Degree qualified in Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
• 5+ years’ open cut mining engineering experience with strong drill and blast exposure.
• Proven experience in through‑seam blasting design is essential.
• Solid capability across drill, load and timing design and blast performance analysis.
• Experience with Vulcan, Deswik, Blast Logic, XPAC, SPRY, 3D Dig or similar software.
• A practical, safety‑first mindset with the ability to influence across operational teams.
