About the opportunity

We currently have an opportunity available for an enthusiastic Project Accountant at our QCoal Northern Hub Project, located in Collinsville. 

Working on a 5/2  roster you will report to project Finance Business Partner and work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results. 

Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

  • Ensure timely completion of EOM deliverables and reports
  • Facilitate monthly cost reviews including analysis of key variances to budget
  • The key contributor to cost build ups for the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Drive financial awareness across the site and ensure financial practices are in line with company policy
  • Ensure financial risks are identified at an early stage
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external key personnel and stakeholders

About you

As a successful applicant, you’ll be a high-achieving team-focused individual who enjoys delivering results in a dynamic environment. Your exceptional relationship-building skills coupled with your ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders will also ensure your success in this role. 

  • CPA or CA qualified (or in progress)
  • Relevant years of post-qualification experience – mining or heavy industry experience would be highly regarded
  • Previous JDE experience highly regarded
  • Proficient in MS Office, strong emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task as required
  • Drive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence across the site
