The Opportunity

Are you a Maintenance Planner with a passion for driving fleet reliability, optimising maintenance schedules and maximising equipment availability?

Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Maintenance Planner to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont.

As a key member of the Lake Vermont team, you'll be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance, servicing and repairs across truck, dozer and ancillary fleets, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory requirements while maximising equipment availability and operational productivity. The role also manages maintenance systems, budgets, defect reporting and supplier relationships to ensure parts availability, cost-effective maintenance delivery and efficient short- to medium-term fleet planning

As the Maintenance Planner, you will:

  • Planning the scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs of Truck, Dozer & Ancillary fleets and infrastructure ensuring compliance with all safety and statutory requirements
  • Maintaining and utilising the Maintenance Management System to generate planned maintenance and major component repair cost budgets
  • Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure that all parts and materials required to effect repairs/services are available at the scheduled times
  • Monitoring and maintaining the known work list Defect Reporting System and the on-site Condition Analysis Systems to ensure information is used to update the maintenance and service schedules
  • Minimising plant costs through continually investigating alternative suppliers for competitive pricing
  • Responsibility for the short and medium-term maintenance scheduling and planning for our plant and equipment to maximise fleet availability and optimise the productivity of the operation

About you

  • Relevant Trade/Tertiary Qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience scheduling & planning maintenance activities for heavy machinery/processing plant preferably within the mining sector
  • Effective communication skills and stakeholder engagement with ability to negotiate and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining Caterpillar, Liebherr, Sandvik or Hitachi heavy equipment
  • Competence in computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft office (project, word, and excel), knowledge of JDE highly regarded
