The Opportunity

Are you a skilled and safety-focused mechanical professional with a passion for maintaining heavy mining equipment and keeping critical assets operating at peak performance? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Mechanic to join our high-performing team at Batam Rebuild Centre.

As a key member of the Batam Rebuild Centre team, you'll be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs across mining equipment and tools to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient.

Roster: 5:2| Location: PT Thiess Engineering Indonesia, Batam| Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

As the [Position Title], you will:

• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, servicing, and repairs on heavy mining equipment and associated tools.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, troubleshoot equipment issues, and replace or repair components to minimise equipment downtime.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and to required quality standards, OEM specifications, and site procedures.

About you

• Minimum High School with Technical background
• Minimum 4 years experienced as a Mechanic
• Possessing Trade Certificate is preferable
• Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related mechanical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in heavy mobile equipment maintenance, with strong mechanical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
• Team work - work effectively with others and relates to fellow workers
