Experience within the construction, mining, or resources sector will be highly regarded.

Duties will include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and joint venture partners.
  • Provide clear, practical, and commercially focused legal advice to support business objectives and decision-making.
  • Interpret and advise on contractual obligations, legislative requirements, and regulatory matters relevant to the business.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, regulators, joint venture partners, suppliers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage claims, disputes, and litigation matters, balancing legal risk with commercially appropriate outcomes while minimising external legal costs where possible.
  • Travel as required to support operational and project needs.
  • Support governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives across the business.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB, JD or equivalent) and a current practising certificate.
  • Notable and proven experience in private practice, in-house legal counsel, or a combination of both.
  • Experience advising on, mining, engineering, infrastructure, or resources-related matters.
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex legal issues and communicate advice in a clear, practical, and commercially focused manner.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
