The Opportunity
Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our high-performing team at our future project in East Kalimantan
As Project Manager you will:
- Plan, direct and control a project from the date of award to the issue of a practical completion certificate and ideally be involved until end of the maintenance period to ensure a project is running well, completed on time and to budget in accordance with all the company standard procedures and to the total satisfaction of the clients.
- Establish and maintain a harmonious client relationship to assist project delivery and enhance client satisfaction.
- Manage relationship with subcontractors to ensure a high level of performance in terms of time, cost and quality.
- Maximize profitability to satisfy or exceed financial goals of the project
- Sets a growth/profit strategy outside the normal paradigm to achieve significant business/project results.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, statutory obligations and Thiess policy.
- Avoid situation resulting in a conflict of interest, bribery or the use of inducements to secure business.
- Plan and control the flow of work for a mining project, including estimating time, supplies and personnel required for completing the project to ensure that projects are being carried out according to established plan.
- Direct, control and execute the Project by conducting a kick off meeting with the Project Team, assign duties and responsibilities as detailed in the functional matrix in order to ensure project initial are well managed.
- Direct, review and analyses client specifications and documents to ensure the requirements defined are incorporated into the works and the responsibilities allocated under the project quality system are understood and implemented.
- Prepare, control and implement project budgets, mining schedules, project reporting, progress assessment and project execution plan, take personal responsibility and accountability for cash flow, receivables and return on capital of the project to ensure budget are meet with operational needs and requirements.
- Interface and coordinate subcontract activities to ensure that they will support the achievement of project aims and the support of company objectives
- Direct, monitor and utilize company’s equipment efficiently, maintain schedule compliance on planned maintenance and reduce cost as appropriate in order to optimize asset utilization.
- Direct, submit and negotiate claims to settlement as required to ensure that progress claims are submitted and paid in a timely manner
- Establish to maintain and manage all stakeholders’ interests to ensure harmonious and cooperative relationships in industrial relations, community relations and staff welfare in all aspects of the project No disruption to project from local community
About you
- Graduate from bachelor's degree in engineering/mining or similar discipline with related minimum experience of 12 years in mining and engineering
- Has experience in Client relations
- Previous experience in similar role such as subcontract management, project management, tendering process, financial concepts, OHS&E requirements Legislative and statutory requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction/mining management principles and practices and the associated flow of design and construction/mining project management
- Certified in POP, POM, POU (desirable)
- Strong communication skill in English and Bahasa Indonesia
