The Opportunity

Are you a highly organised with a high attention to detail, with a passion for Administration? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Administration Officer to join our high-performing team at Lake Vermont Project.

As a key member of the Lake Vermont team, you'll be responsible for providing professional administrative support across the project, partnering with site departments and stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of business operations.

Roster: 9-day fortnight (Mon-Fri) | Location: Lake Vermont, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent

As the Administration Officer, you will:

  • Support month-end financial processes through the preparation of accruals, account reconciliations, reviews, and reporting activities to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timeframes, ensuring compliance with company procedures and contractual payment terms.
  • Manage and respond to enquiries within the site purchasing inbox, providing timely support and resolution to stakeholders.
  • Administer corporate credit card transactions and complete monthly reconciliations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate site uniform requirements, including ordering, tracking, and distribution to ensure workforce readiness.
  • Arrange travel, accommodation, and logistics for site visitors and leadership team requirements, including stakeholder communications, meeting coordination, and agenda preparation.
  • Provide administrative support for site meetings, events, and employee engagement activities to ensure successful execution.
  • Deliver responsive and high-quality administrative support across multiple site departments, contributing to efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and undertake additional duties as directed by management to support operational and business objectives.

About you

This position is ideally suited to someone who has worked in the mining or an allied industry and has the following skills:

  • Strong administration experience with exposure to mining environment being highly regarded
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages 
  • Proficiency in JDE or equivalent business procurement system – advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic with a positive can-do attitude 
  • Time management and the ability to prioritising tasks and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work harmoniously with other people of various backgrounds
