The Opportunity
Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Officer Purchasing to join our high-performing team at Balikpapan Support Facility
As Officer Purchasing, you will:
- Be responsible for end-to-end reconciliation of subcontractor claims, ensuring OS contract invoices are validated
against Thiess records and complete the process by issuing progress certificates, closing INV entries, and
posting clearing journals and accruals.
- Prepare and distribute the weekly APWF report to all projects
- Update and maintain subcontractor insurance records in Felix and Blackrock by reviewing and processing insurance policies to ensure data accuracy
- Expedite all Thiess projects (East and West regions) by referring to Open Orders reports.
- Create Order Requisitions (OR) based on requests received from projects via email, IQSS portal, or Jotform portal.
- Perform invoice statement reconciliation, including closing invoices and clearing account credits in the inbox.
- Verify invoices by matching Purchase Orders (PO) with invoices to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Expedite all Thiess projects (East and West) by referring to Open Orders reports.
- Process Change Orders for any price variance in POs, repairs, and other orders that require amendments.
- Procure goods according to project requirements, based on user needs and specified lead times. Handle OR-to-OP processes for Parts & Consumables, Part Exchange (PEX/REMAN), Repairs, Warranty, Fabrication, Labour,
- Testing, Calibration, and all unit/machine requirements across Thiess sites (additional task for development program as a Purchasing Officer).
- Manage the ordering process for all Thiess Australian Mining Sites, including RFQ, OR creation, approval processes, and generating and releasing POs to suppliers (additional task for development program as a Purchasing Officer).
- Implement procurement standards in accordance with TAM Purchasing SOP and Thiess Procurement Policy.
- Apply Thiess Procurement Policy and TGS Purchasing Guidelines to achieve OR-to-OP lead time targets.
- Utilize contracted pricing and ensure all contracts are valid.
About you
- Minimum Bachelor Degree with 2-4 years in Supply Chain Environment & Finance/accounting
- Spare Parts or Component of Heavy Equipment and General items knowledge
- Invoice verification and Matching
- Statement Invoice reconciliation and journaling.
- Familiar with MS Office & ERP Knowledge / Oracle JDE - JDE Procurement module
- Advanced in Purchasing material/parts and process
- Must have good English communication skill
